This page describe the NWS installation for the TeraGrid.

The nws nameserver and memory are hosted on tg-nws.cs.ucsb.edu (it's an alias for desmo2.cs.ucsb.edu).

There is mailing list talking about the NWS installation: you can register at http://pompone.cs.ucsb.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/teragrid.

Following are graphs regarding the bandwidth, latency and available CPU on the teragrid clique: they are generated using the nws_plot command.

The hosts list is in here. You can check the current list of machine in the clique with

nws_search -N tg-nws.cs.ucsb.edu clique

or

nws_cmd -N tg-nws hosts tg

but for the above graphs we reordered the list so that "closer" hosts are close and the graph is a bit more human readable. Of course, you can check the list of machines that we have a sensor running with

nws_search -N tg-nws.cs.ucsb.edu

There are sensors not in the clique, because of firewall issues, which we haven't resolve yet.

This installation currently used a pre-release version of NWS: you can download the source code here NWS pre-3.01. This version is incompatible with older versions: you cannot use tools from older versions with it, so you need to compile this sources to access the TeraGrid NWS installation.
